Classically Trained Piano Instruction

Triangle Area | 1-hour Lessons | $40/hour

As a former competitive, classically trained pianist who found my passion in media sound, I have a unique perspective on how to teach piano in a way that keeps students motivated and engaged. I have taught students ranging from young children to adults, and I have experience with a variety of musical styles, including classical, pop, rock, and more.

Lesson Structure

Since I am a college student living with roommates in an apartment, I typically teach lessons at my students' homes. Of course, this requires students to have a keyboard or piano at home (which I can help you find if you don't have one). For first lessons, I generally try to gauge the student's level of experience and what they are looking to get out of lessons.

For all my students, I aim to help them not only learn how to play the piano, but also to develop a love for music and a deeper understanding of music theory. Music theory is important because it helps students understand the structure of music and how to read sheet music. I often share my own experiences with music theory and how it has helped me in my own playing, as it is important for students to see the practical applications of what they are learning so they can see the value in it.
